Justin Bieber’s team has addressed the rumors surrounding the singer allegedly being in debt following the cancellation of his world tour, emphasizing that he won’t be “deterred.”
In September 2022, Bieber announced the cancellation of his world tour after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome earlier that year.
The Beauty and a Beat singer shared on Instagram that he was unable to complete the North American leg of his Justice World Tour. Due to the significant health challenges he was facing, and on the advice of doctors, family, and his team, he was forced to cancel the remaining shows.
The following year, Bieber announced that he would also be canceling his tour dates in Europe, Australia, and the US. A Hollywood Reporter article published on April 16 cites sources claiming that the singer has been left with significant debt as a result.
The Hollywood Reporter article states that Bieber’s decision to cancel his world tour led to the layoff of over 100 crew members.
The outlet also claims that Bieber received a $40 million advance from the tour’s promoter, and by not completing the scheduled dates, he failed to fulfill the contract, leaving him with a “large debt” owed to the promoter.
“Insider sources” reportedly claimed that the “large debt” of over $20 million was covered by a loan from Bieber’s manager at the time, with the singer allegedly yet to pay it all back.
Bieber’s team responded, telling the outlet: “Any source attempting to sell a story about alleged financial distress either doesn’t understand the entertainment industry or, more likely, is trying to paint an unflattering picture of Justin, which is completely inaccurate.”
Additionally, his team released a statement to US Weekly, stating: “This is just clickbait nonsense based on unnamed and clearly ill-informed ‘sources’ who are disappointed they no longer work with Justin.”

“As Justin moves forward on his own path, these unnecessary stories and false assumptions will persist. However, they will not stop him from staying focused on doing what’s right.”
Bieber has previously opened up about managing his condition, sharing personal footage on social media to give fans a glimpse into his experience with the syndrome.
Ramsay Hunt syndrome, or herpes zoster oticus, occurs when the varicella-zoster virus (shingles) reactivates and spreads to the facial nerves near the inner ear, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
The clinic explains: “It may cause weakness or stiffness on one side of your face, depending on which branch of the facial nerve is affected. This can make it difficult to close your eye and may also make it hard to wrinkle your forehead or show facial expressions such as smiling or frowning.”
“It may also cause drooping and/or paralysis on one side of your face. This can cause slurred speech and it may make it difficult to eat.”

When announcing the cancellation of his tour, Bieber spoke about the “exhaustion” he had been experiencing and the need to prioritize his health.
A video he shared highlighted how “pretty serious” the condition is, showing the extent of his facial paralysis.
He added, “I wish this wasn’t the case, but clearly, my body is telling me that I need to slow down. I hope you all understand, and I’ll be using this time to rest, relax, and get back to 100 percent so I can do what I was born to do.
“I’m going to get better, and I’m doing all these facial exercises to restore my face to normal. It will return to normal; it just takes time, and we don’t know how much time it will take.”
