Anonymous leaks Donald Trump file following hack into Putin’s secret data

Anonymous has been one of the most outspoken groups opposing U.S. President Donald Trump since his return to office earlier this year. In a recent data leak, the hacking collective appears to have exposed connections between Trump, Vladimir Putin, and the Russian government.

Known for championing “freedom of thought, expression, and privacy,” the notorious hacking group has long positioned itself against right-wing figures and governments around the world, with a particular focus on American politics during Trump’s time in office.

Anonymous has previously clashed with Trump’s close ally Elon Musk on X, and just recently detailed how Trump’s administration is allegedly following the blueprint of “Project Russia”—a plan they claim is aimed at dismantling American democracy.

It seems their concerns have now been validated, as data stolen from Putin’s administration reportedly includes what are being called “Donald Trump files,” allegedly linking the current U.S. president to the Russian government, according to Forbes.

The massive cyberattack led to around 10 terabytes of information being leaked online, encompassing data from numerous Russian businesses, high-ranking individuals, government contracts, political documents, and more—all organized into detailed folders.

Among the most notable folders is one titled “Leaked Data of Donald Trump,” which is believed to contain critical information tying Trump to the Russian government. Interestingly, there’s also a folder related to Domino’s Pizza—likely a reference to the chain’s former presence in Russia before it pulled out of the country in 2023.

Anonymous claims the leak was intended to aid Ukraine’s efforts in the war against Russia, as the exposed data includes military intelligence and information on defense companies that could prove crucial to Ukraine’s ongoing resistance.

However, when it comes to the Trump folder, experts caution against high expectations, suggesting it contains little new information beyond what is already publicly known.

There’s still a massive amount of data for curious users to sift through, and it’s possible something interesting could emerge. But for now, the leak is largely being seen as a bit of a nonevent—revealing familiar patterns rather than anything truly groundbreaking.

Most agree that corruption within Russia’s government is hardly shocking, and connections to influential figures around the world aren’t exactly headline-making revelations in this instance.

Some critics have even suggested that Anonymous simply “grabbed whatever they could” without much regard for its significance, and considering the sheer volume—over 10 terabytes—it’s not all that surprising that much of it lacks major new insights.
