Selena Gomez is no stranger to old Hollywood glamour, having dazzled throughout awards season with a series of chic, retro-inspired looks.
At Sunday’s Oscars, the *Emilia Perez* star embraced classic elegance once again, stepping onto the red carpet in an off-the-shoulder custom Ralph Lauren gown with a striking detail—over 16,000 drops of glass and hand-sewn Rosemont crystals arranged in a lattice pattern. Crafted by a team of 12 Italian artisans, the dress featured airbrushed glass to create a pink ombré effect that shimmered with every movement.
Gomez completed her look with a peachy nude lip, a wavy bob, and dazzling diamond jewelry, including a choker and drop earrings.
Her stylist, Erin Walsh, told *E! News* that they aimed to capture “movie star magic,” drawing inspiration from Italian screen legend Sophia Loren. In fact, Gomez and Walsh even consulted Loren’s former tailor while refining the look, Walsh revealed.
On a night filled with glamour at LA’s Dolby Theatre, Gomez’s gown was just one of several sparkling showstoppers.
During the Academy’s *James Bond* tribute performance, Doja Cat stunned in a custom Swarovski gown adorned with over one million crystals. Lily-Rose Depp dazzled in a plunging custom black lace halter dress by Chanel, featuring approximately 191,000 embroidery elements, including black sequins, crystals, and pearls. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande’s breathtaking Schiaparelli gown—fresh off the label’s Spring-Summer 2025 Haute Couture runway—shimmered with over 190,000 crystal sequins, rhinestones, and cut beads.
Blush pink hues also emerged as a standout trend on the Oscars red carpet.

Gomez arrived at the awards show alongside her fiancé, Benny Blanco, before taking the stage with Samuel L. Jackson to co-present the awards for Best Documentary Short Film and Best Documentary Feature.
Her film *Emilia Perez* was nominated for 13 Oscars, including Best Picture, but ultimately took home two awards—Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldaña and Best Original Song for *El Mal*.
The actress has been one of the best-dressed stars of the 2025 awards season. Just last week, she wowed at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in a romantic Celine gown, and at January’s Golden Globes, she described her light blue Prada dress as “Cinderella meets Jackie O” in an interview with *E! News*.
