LaVar Ball undergoes foot amputation following a ‘severe medical complication.’

LaVar Ball, the co-founder of Big Baller Brand and father of NBA players LaMelo Ball, Lonzo Ball, and former NBA player LiAngelo Ball, recently had his right foot amputated following a “serious medical issue,” as reported by TMZ Sports on Wednesday. According to the report, Ball underwent the procedure and is now in good spirits and recovering well. No additional details about the situation were provided as of Wednesday.

LaVar Ball attends a basketball game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls at Staples Center on November 21, 2017 in Los Angeles, California.

Ball, 57, and his sons have yet to publicly address the situation.

The Ball family patriarch has made headlines for being outspoken while championing his sons’ basketball careers.

Lonzo was the second overall pick by the Lakers in the 2017 NBA Draft and LaMelo was the third overall pick by the Hornets in the 2020 NBA Draft.

In February, Ball and the Bulls reached a two-year, $20 million contract extension after he faced a knee injury in 2022 that required multiple procedures and sidelined him for over 1,000 days.

LaMelo earned the NBA Rookie of the Year award in 2021 and was selected for the NBA All-Rookie First Team that same year.

He achieved another milestone in 2022 when he was named to his first NBA All-Star Game.

LaMelo, currently averaging 27.3 points per game this season, has been sidelined due to an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, LiAngelo, who last played for the Mexican team Astros de Jalisco, has transitioned into a rap career.

He recently performed his latest track, “Tweaker,” during NBA All-Star weekend in San Francisco last weekend.
