Donald Trump announces the daily revenue the U.S. will generate as global tariffs take effect.

President Donald Trump remains steadfast in his belief that he’s made the right — and necessary — choices to strengthen the American economy, despite ongoing criticism.

In case you missed the escalating global tensions triggered by recent U.S. actions, the situation continues to intensify as Trump addresses the economic consequences.

On April 2nd, he unveiled his “Liberation Day” plan, announcing a new wave of tariffs targeting countries across the globe — including key allies and long-established trade partners.

In addition to imposing a 25 percent tariff on all foreign-made automobiles, President Trump has introduced a baseline 10 percent tariff on imports from all countries not covered by the USMCA free trade agreement between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Non-compliant nations face a 25 percent tariff, while imports from the UK are taxed at 10 percent and goods from the European Union are subject to a 20 percent tariff.

Although many world leaders have expressed a willingness to negotiate new deals to avoid U.S. tariffs, they’ve also issued warnings of retaliatory measures. China, in particular, appears to be entering a fresh trade war with the United States, signaling its intent to impose tariffs of its own.

Trump has remained steadfast in his belief that this economic strategy will lead to a “rebirth of American industry” and ultimately serve the best interests of the American people.

On Wednesday (April 9), the U.S. government officially began collecting tariffs on imports from 90 countries, including a staggering 104% levy on goods from China.

Speaking at a White House event the day before (April 8), President Trump revealed how much revenue the U.S. was reportedly generating from the new measures, claiming, “We’re already taking in almost $2 billion a day in tariffs.”

He also emphasized that numerous countries were eager to negotiate new trade deals in an effort to avoid the steep tariffs.

He said: “These countries are calling me up, kissing my a**… they are dying to make a deal…”

Mocking the desperation of some countries, Trump mimicked their pleas, saying: “Please, please, sir, make a deal. I’ll do anything.”

He went on to say, “I truly believe the tariff situation is working in our favor — it’s not a bad thing, it’s a great thing.”

“This is going to be legendary — mark my words — and I mean that in a positive way,” Trump declared.

“That’s why, starting at midnight tonight, additional tariffs on Chinese goods will take effect at 104%. That’s how it’s going to be until they come to the table and make a deal with us.”

“I believe they’ll make a deal eventually. China wants one, they really do — they just don’t know how to begin, because they’re a proud people.”
