Tino Livramento has been omitted from the England squad by Thomas Tuchel for tonight’s match against Latvia at Wembley.
The Newcastle United star has had an outstanding season, recently shifting to left-back to cover for the injured Lewis Hall.
Having demonstrated his versatility in both full-back roles, Livramento was in the mix for a spot against Albania on Friday but remained an unused substitute in the 2-0 win.
Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly started at left-back and marked his international debut with a goal 20 minutes in, while Kyle Walker retained his position at right-back. Reece James came on in the second half to replace Lewis-Skelly.
Livramento will have no involvement in tonight’s match against Latvia in the capital, having been sent back to his club.
Tuchel named a 26-man squad for his first two games in charge, but is restricted to a 23-man matchday squad.
Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale will also be excluded once again, with Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson, and James Trafford being the manager’s preferred options in goal.

“If that means leaving out very good and talented players, then so be it. Over the next 16 months, it’s crucial we find the right team, not just the 26 most talented players.”
“We need to get the team right. We need to get the team spirit right because playing qualifiers is one thing, but tournament football is a whole different challenge.”
With England lacking other options at left-back after Livramento’s departure, it seems Lewis-Skelly is poised to start for England once again tonight.

The pair, along with Ramsdale, were excluded from the squad last Friday.
Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka, and Trent Alexander-Arnold were among the high-profile absentees from the squad due to injury, along with Kobbie Mainoo.
Anthony Gordon has now joined the injury list after being forced off during the match against Albania. Eberechi Eze and Jarrod Bowen are among the potential replacements should Tuchel choose to drop Phil Foden or Marcus Rashford from his starting XI.
