Cleveland Browns long snapper Charley Hughlett (47) and punter Corey Bojorquez (13) stand on the sideline prior to an NFL football game, Dec 24, 2023, in Houston.
The Cleveland Browns made two roster moves on Monday, releasing long snapper Charley Hughlett and signing cornerback Anthony Kendall.
Hughlett, who had the longest current tenure with the Browns alongside guard Joel Bitonio since both joined the team in 2014, played in 152 games for Cleveland. However, he appeared in just five games this past season before a rib injury landed him on injured reserve for the remainder of the year.
Browns general manager Andrew Berry described the decision as “a bittersweet transaction for our organization because we hate parting ways with a valued and long-tenured player.”
Kendall, a Baldwin-Wallace alum just down the road from the Browns’ facility, is entering his second season. He appeared in 16 games for the Tennessee Titans in 2013, recording nine tackles, and spent part of last season on the practice squads of both Tennessee and Baltimore.
